Phinafen® 400mg

Phinafen® 400mg is another NSAID from Phinas Pharma. It contains 400mg of Ibuprofen. Pharmacologically it is classified as Anti-rheumatics (anti-inflammatory agents).
Chemically, Ibuprofen is described as a non-steroidal compound, which exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic activities.

Phinafen is well absorbed on oral administration.

Phinafen® blocks the production of prostaglandins, substances our body releases in response to illness and injury. Prostaglandins cause pain and swelling (inflammation); they are released in the brain and can also cause fever.

Phinafen is indicated for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or Still's disease), ankylosing spondylitis and osteo-arthritis and acute gouty arthritis. Phinafen is indicated in the treatment of non-articular rheumatism including fibrositis. Phinafen is indicated in peri-articular conditions such as frozen shoulder (capsulitis), bursitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis and low-back pain. Phinafen can also be used in soft-tissue injuries such as sprains and strains. Phinafen is also indicated for its analgesic effect in the relief of mild to moderate pain such as menstrual cramps or dysmenorrhoea, headache and muscle aches.  Dental, post-episiotomy pain and post-partum pain. Phinafen may also be used as an antipyretic. It is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu.

Phinafen should not be given to patients with peptic ulceration. Pregnant women should seek medical advice from their doctors first before using Phinafen.

Because of the possibility of cross-sensitivity due to structural relationships which exist among non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, acute allergic reactions may be more likely to occur in patients who have exhibited allergic reactions to these compounds.
